The patient positions the foot on the scanner. The operator manipulates the foot to create the required morphology. Scanning is initiated with the pins rising. They will rise until they are blocked by the foot. The operator will freeze the pins, remove the foot, inspect the frozen pins, and proceed to scan the casting created. The 3D morphology is then digitally transferred to the PC and the operator can make adjustments (e.g. add a heel lift) and add shapes (e.g. offloads and bumps)
